Jenny B. Davis is an award-winning magazine writer and editor, a licensed lawyer, an editorial fashion stylist and the author of the current edition of "Style Wise: A Practical Guide to Becoming a Fashion Stylist" and "Writing for the Fashion Business," both published by Bloomsbury/Fairchild.
She is also a professor of practice in the fashion media department of the division of journalism at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she teaches fashion journalism, styling and visual culture, and fashion entrepreneurship. She is also the advisor to the SMU Look media brand, an award-winning student content company publishing online, in print and across social media platforms.
Davis has spent nearly 25 years on the editorial mastheads of the ABA Journal magazine, Indulge magazine and Texas Lawyer newspaper. Her freelance writing and styling credits include USA Weekend, Travel + Leisure, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun-Times, Fodor's Travel Guide, Virtuoso Life and many more.
Davis has attended New York Fashion Week every year since 2007, explained Enron, edited Clinton Kelly, patrolled the Rio Grande with border agents, traveled on slow boats in China, eaten reindeer in Finland and hiked to hidden temples in Kuala Lumpur.
When it comes to personal style, Davis's NYFW lewks have been photographed by the legendary Bill Cunningham for his New York Times column "On the Street" and have been featured on NYLON.com, Yahoo News, Footwear News and in many other media outlets. She is also an officially certified Star Wars cosplayer, and she has performed at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago and in London and has appeared on the Disney Channel in Europe and in numerous publications.
She has launched two niche fashion lines, earning a stint as a Macy's Emerging Designer and a write-up in The New York Times, and has written and illustrated two coloring books -- one about lawyer-presidents and the other about the U.S. Supreme Court. Currently, Davis writes a monthly column in the ABA Journal and regularly writes and styles fashion shoots for 360 West magazine.
